Aged Care Volunteers Visitor Scheme (ACVVS)

The Aged Care Volunteers visitor Scheme (ACVVS) matches older people with a volunteer for a regular catch up and aims to improve quality of life for the aged care residential or home care recipients participating in the scheme.

Are you able to spare an hour, once a fortnight to visit with and older person?

Housing Older Women Support Service (HOWSS)

Housing Older Women Support Service (HOWSS) has peer volunteers in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast areas.

Are you:

  • An older woman who has experienced homelessness or housing instability and now have access to safe and secure housing?
  • Able to provide 1 to 1 support to women through sharing your personal story of lived experience to inspire hope?
  • Availability to offer voluntary support at least once per fortnight for at least sixty minutes duration?
  • Living In Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast and/or willing to meet with women in these regions?

Social connections support overall happiness and health as we age. Volunteer your time with Social Support Group participants who reside in both South and North Brisbane. Make a positive and meaningful impact.

Our Light Street Centre operates over five days a week and we are always looking for volunteers to help with food and beverage service, kitchen support, client care, just having a conversation with clients, assisting with activities and vehicle transport to and from the centre.

We are grateful for any time and assistance you can provide.
