Jolie’s story | Volunteer spotlight

Meet Jolie, one of our recent talented Marketing and Communications volunteers.

Jolie volunteered with Footprints between August 2023 and April 2024. She came with previous experience in event coordination and management and was an invaluable asset for the Footprints Community 2023 Art Exhibition and Silent Auction, which was a huge success. Jolie also assisted the Marketing and Communications Team on numerous projects, undertaking market research and writing social media posts.

This is what she had to say about her time volunteering at Footprints.

I was inspired to volunteer at Footprints as I was looking to grow my confidence. It has been an amazing place to gain experience and develop my skills. Helping with the annual art exhibition was extremely fulfilling, I loved being a part of the different planning stages and setup. Seeing all of the hard work and effort come together on the night gave me a great sense of purpose and achievement.

I would say definitely go for it. There are many benefits, depending on what you are looking for. Whether you are looking to gain some practical experience, to help boost your CV, feel a part of a community, or improve your mental health and challenge yourself.

Volunteering is a great idea.
